I have been stuck on my Graham line for years. About a month ago I wrote A Rose by any other name... and just to recap, my great-grandmother was Arazina Rose Graham Camfield. I knew she was born in 1852 but I wasn't able to find her on the 1860 census and there was a good reason for that! Her name was actually Susan. I discovered this through a set of hand written genealogy pages that were included in the Carlisle Family letters. So to begin this series on my Graham ancestors here is the transcription of those notes. I have edited out any information that refers to living relatives.

It's good when you're able to knock down a brick wall like that, it's usually something simple like a different name too :)
Apple, I also had a relative that died at Sawtelle Soldier's Home. I wrote about it here and the post includes a vintage postcard of the home which I found online.

It did turn out to be simple but without these notes I might have been banging my head against the wall for a long time yet!

Thanks so much. I have done a couple of simple searches for Luther Graham but hadn't looked for his grave yet. He too, is buried in Sawtelle and now I have a death date in 1918 to follow up on. At find a grave there were flowers left for him so I have a follow-up avenue there too!
The picture of the home makes it look quite impressive. One of my Carlisle uncle's may have spent time at the home in Michigan too. I still have to follow up on that.
